Steven Thomas Marquez

Steven Thomas Marquez, Sr. was born on February 22, 1963 in Santa Rosa, Ca and passed away on June 16, 2024 at the young age of 61. 

Steve was the son of Vincent and Margaret Marquez.

Steve spent his young adult years in Selma, growing up on Young Street with the Ochoa’s, Lopez and Cavazos families. Always playing football in the streets and listening to music. He was full of life, laughter and adventure. He was always telling jokes and had a playful laugh that will always be remembered. 

He was a fearless man and escaped death many times. Although he was a fearless man, He did fear his Mother. He loved his Mom dearly and all his family. Steve enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. He would do anything he could for them. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Margaret Marquez, and his brothers, Phillip Arnold Marquez and Miguel “Chito” Barajas.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his children, Steven Thomas Marquez, Jr., Jonathon Angel Marquez, Ruby Bianca Marquez and their mother, Connie Marquez, Pearl Stephanie Marquez and her mother Santos Salinas, his brothers, Junior Marquez, Samuel Marquez and Jose “Lolie” Barajas, his sisters, Belle Garica and Theresa Ochoa along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and long time friends that will all miss him dearly

A Memorial Service will be held at Sterling & Smith Funeral Directors 1103 E Street, Fresno, Ca 93706 on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 3:00 – 5:00 pm and a Graveside Service, where he will placed next to his Mother and brothers on July 1, 2024 at 10:00 am at Selma Cemetery District 2430 Floral Ave, Selma, Ca 93662.

The Marquez Family would like to thank everyone who contributed to the services for their Beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle. Your generosity and support is very much appreciated. Your condolences and love shown has brought us much comfort thru this difficult time.
