OBITUARY FOR RUBY LEE FRANEY

Ruby Lee Franey went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 10, 2021. Ruby was born on November 5, 1927 to Louis and Francis Zatlukal in Temple, Texas. She was the baby of four children and spent a lot of time picking cotton during the harvest season. When she was 15, she got a job at the local drug store because of her great love of everything cosmetics. Ruby warmed everyone’s hearts with her big smile and gentle soul.
Ruby moved to California in 1948 where she met her soon to be husband, James Clifford Franey, and they married on February 19, 1950. She was a wonderful homemaker and helped with the family business by doing all the paperwork and bookkeeping.
Clifford and Ruby established their home in Lindsay, CA where she was a loving mother of three children – Roger, Linda and Lori. After raising her family, she went back to work outside the home at the Municipal Court in Tulare, where she retired after 10 years on July 27, 1990.
She loved being with her family, talking about her grandkids, reading and going to the dollar store. Getting a bargain always made her happy. Half of her cart was always filled with candy and chocolate so she could feed her crazy sweet tooth. Her motto was eat dessert first, life is so uncertain.
Ruby was preceded in death, by her two brothers, Ivan and Lawrence, sister Martha, her daughter Linda, daughter-in-law Lynn and her granddaughter Ashley. She is survived by her son Roger, daughter Lori and husband Jim, grand children Jason and wife Melissa, Ken and wife Christina, Kelsey and husband Nathan, and Grace in addition to 8 great grandchildren.
