Ronald Lynn Deal

Ronald Lynn Deal, 64, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son, and friend was peacefully called to the Lord on Christmas morning, December 25, 2020.
Ron was born in Atkins, Arkansas to Clyde and Mary Sue Deal. The family moved from Arkansas to California when Ron was a young boy. Ron graduated from Tulare Western High School in 1974 and married the love of his life and High School Sweetheart, Monica Soares in 1976. They remained happily married for over 35 years until Monica lost her battle with cancer in 2012.
Ron worked many jobs, first working for a farmer and Neilson’s restaurant in high school then in the parts department at Merle Stone and Sturgeon and Beck. He spent 16 years at Knudsen as the parts manager before starting his own successful handyman business, Honey Do’s, in 2000.
Ron and Monica started their family in 1981 with the birth of their son Joshua and in 1983 their daughter Evelyn was born. Ron was a man of faith and known for his caring and jovial personality and had many friends. Ron and Monica loved to travel and enjoyed many family vacations throughout their many years together. Ron continued to enjoy traveling and had visited nearly every state in the US at the time of his passing. He also enjoyed fishing, watching old westerns, and eating a great meal (followed by something sweet of course). Ron had started to enjoy walking and hiking in the recent years and even hiked Mt Whitney in 2016. Above all though, he just loved having a good chat and laugh with friends and family.
Ron is survived by his son Josh Deal and his wife Hannah of Tehachapi, daughter Evelyn Kucera and her husband Joe of Atascadero, and grandchildren Braden, Bayleigh, and Lola Mae. He is also survived by his brothers Phillip and David Deal, sisters-in-law Sheila and Beth, foster brothers Kenny Yates and Jeff Dooley, along with several brother and sisters-in-law through Monica. Ron was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Beyond family, Ron is survived by a large but very close and loving group of friends. Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife Monica, parents, and brother Jeffrey Deal.
Ron’s family will spread his ashes off the coast of Avila Beach where Monica’s ashes were spread. Due to COVID-19, the service will be delayed several months. The hope is that a big outdoor celebration will be possible by early summer. Those wishing to honor Ron’s memory may contribute to Relay for Life or their charity of choice.
