Phillip Arnold Marquez was born on October 2, 1964 in Santa Rosa, Ca and entered heaven’s gates on July 17, 2021 in Sanger, Ca at the age of 56.
Phillip grew up in St Helena, Ca and would share his childhood stories about
growing up on a ranch and having his own horse named Princess. Later the family moved to Healdsburg, Ca and he became the prince on Prince Street.
He relocated to Selma and was a proud member of the Selma High School Black Bear Brigade
Marching Band.
In 1988, He married Tina Avila. They were together 32 years and had 2 children, Nathanael Henry & Priscilla Sunshine. Phillip was a great dad and an amazing grandfather. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. Phillip would go on their school field trips and was remembered as “The Cool Dad” He left his children a lifetime of wonderful memories.
Phillip worked as a pressman’s assistant for over 32 of his life. He started at the Healdsburg Tribune, Selma Enterprise and finished his career at Sanger Herald.
Phillip was 22 years old when he felt the calling of God upon his life.
In 2000 Phillip went to the Victory Outreach Christian Recovery Home and recommitted his life to the Lord. He spend the next 20 years of his life serving the Lord in Leadership, bible studies, street ministry and most of all leading worship.
Phillip, along with his children would usher in the presents of the Lord through praise and worship. Worship was his weapon and he was a Might Man of Valor. A sold out soldier in the army of the Lord and he wore his Victory Outreach gear with pride.
Phillip had a personality that was larger than life. He would do anything to make your laugh and put a smile on your face. He was a master at impersonating voices. Phillip had a heart of gold and would take the shirt off his back for you. He would welcome strangers into his home to feed them a meal and then feed them the word of God. He had a funny sense of humor and loved to be the center of attention. If you listen closely, you can still hear his famous opera voice “Ahhhhhhh”
Phillip begin to suffer from his illness and it took a toll on him, but his guardian angel was there by his side and escorted him through the pearly gates as his loved ones were there awaiting his arrival.
He is proceeded death by his Mother, Margaret, his Father, Vincent, his brothers, Tony Rea, Jr. & Miguel Barajas, his sister, Linda Antone, and his Tia & Tio, Tony & Amelia Rea.
He leaves behind to cherish all his memories, his sons, Adolf Ochoa, Nathanael Henry Marquez, his daughter, Priscilla Sunshine Marquez, and their mother, Tina Marquez along with 8 grand children, Julian, Josiah, Isaiah, Ezra, Bella, Emma, Isabelle and Tristian. His brothers, Junior, Sam & Steve Marquez, Jose Barajas, his sisters, Pat Rea, Belle Garcia & Terry Marquez and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins that will all miss him dearly.
