Peter Ibañez
Peter Ibañez passed away on August 17, 2020 at Tulare Adventist Health Center. Peter was born October 18, 1968 in Modesto CA, to Julian Delacruz and Julia Onsurez Rivas. Pete’s infectious personality was the result of his selfless attitude. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. His love for others was felt by many from family, friends, co-workers, and special olympics co-participants. He worked for over twenty years for Able industries, performing several jobs to the best of his ability. The several awards he gathered over his years of service are a testament to his work ethic. Another passion of his was participating in Special Olympics. He exemplified the ideals of the organization and participated at a high level through out his involvement. He won several medals for summer events including running events, and shot put. He also won tournaments for floor hockey and basketball. Even with all his accolades what he treasured most was being family with his fellow participants and seeing others rise with him. He is preceded in death by his adoptive parents Manuela O. Ibañez, Jose Nieves Ibañez and brother Ricardo Ibañez Sr. He is survived by his sister Olga Martinez, brother Jose Manuel Ibañez, sister-in-law Angelica Ibañez, nephews Ricardo Ibañez Jr., Jose Manuel Ibañez Jr. and nieces Lydia Cervantes, and Elizabeth Marie Ibañez.
