Mildred E. Hasel

October 23, 1921 — June 11, 2020

Mildred E. Hasel

Millie Hasel entered eternal life on June 11, 2020. She was born in Cascade, MT, on October 23, 1921. She later married Harold Marvin Hasel and moved to Torrance, CA, from Oregon. After they retired from their careers, they settled in the mountains in Badger, CA. Her spirit has carried through her 5 children; Hilda “Tootie” Dean, Harold “Herb” Hasel, Harley Dale Hasel, Helen “Gaynell” Sarver and Holly “Joy” Baxter along with her 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers and sisters and extended family and friends.

We were all blessed to be able to learn valuable lessons of life from Millie during her 98 years. These included why not to be a picky eater, that girls can do everything boys can do, not to tickle babies (because they can't tell you not to, of course), and you may even recall her demands to not act "too big for your britches" or to "never be late for supper".

Millie enjoyed sitting at her kitchen table while watching the cars pass and butterflies landing on her chrysanthemums. She enjoyed the hummingbirds coming to drink their nectar that she abundantly prepared for them, and birds coming to enjoy their seeds from what seemed to be a never empty bird feeder. Her grandkids will recall her love for listening to Hank Williams Senior and Junior, and singing at the top of her lungs from the pew at church.

Millie is described by all as the kindest woman with the sweetest voice and also one of the strongest women that many have ever known. She has always been a fighter. Her life and her legacy of being strong willed (and maybe a little stubborn too) lives on through her children and grandchildren.

Millie is now reunited with her husband, Harold Hasel, daughters, Hilda "Tootie" Dean & Helen "Gaynell" Sarver, and two grandsons Rick & Chester Hasel in Heaven. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her beautiful, long life at Eshom Valley Cemetery on July 9th, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. dress comfortably with a splash of color.
