Mary Cabanas

Mary Sandra Villegas Cabañas, mother to Cindy Ruiz, Alfred Cabañas Jr., Randy Cabañas and Sherrie Cabañas, Passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from pneumonia and Alzheimer's Disease. Her final moments were spent peacefully at her daughter, Sherrie's home, as she was surrounded by her family until her last breath.

Mary Spent her entire career saving others. This included helping kids learn when she worked as a Teacher's Aide at Cutler Elementary School. That was followed by years of caring for patients as a Medical Front Office Receptionist for several local medical providers. She especially loved working with Dr. Thomas Wileman.

Mary was known for her kind and loving heart. She was most passionate about her family, Bible studies, gardening, her rock collection, traveling and her beloved cats. She enjoyed her adventures visiting different states and especially loved camping. Mary had a green thumb and her gift for gardening was apparent in the beauty and creativity of her yard. Her love for God was evident in her words, her actions and how she loved others.

Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Mary's family asks that she be remembered for her joy she brought to others in life, and not dwell in the sadness of her passing.

Mary is survived by her children, Cindy Ruiz and son-in-law, Steve, Phoenix,AZ; Alfred "Curly" Cabañas jr., Cutler, CA.; Randy Cabañas and daughter-in-law, Julie, Dinuba, CA., and Sherrie Cabañas, Dinuba, CA.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; her beloved cats, Katie and Momma Cat; her two brothers, Andrew Villegas (Irma) and Manuel Villegas (Marie); and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her very much. We know we will see her again and look forward to that day!
