Levirdies Samuel Allen Sr. (Lee) was born on May 29, 1942 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Samuel and Bernestean Allen. Lee was one of six children. At a young age Lee and his family moved to Porterville, Ca where he later graduated from high school in 1959. Shortly after Lee enlisted to serve and honor his country as a United States Navy Sailor. During his eight years of service Lee was stationed in San Diego, Ca where he met and married the love of his life Jennifer Rodgers. They established a home in Inglewood, Ca and were later blessed with five daughters and one son. Lee was a devoted family man and loved his girls and only son beyond measure. Lee and his wife Jennifer were honored to have celebrated 52 years of marriage together. He was known as a dedicated husband, father and an exceedingly ambitious hard worker. During their union, Lee worked multiple jobs for the County and City of Los Angeles as a Maintenance Technician as well as a Building Operation Supervisor for over 16 years.
After he retired from LA County in 1984 Lee returned to the central valley with his family. He acquired a position with the Porterville School District, which also allowed him to pursue one of his passions in starting his own lawn & garden business. Lee loved working and serving the people in his community. He was a member of Holy Faith Church of God In Christ, where he served as an assistant Pastor for several years. After his retirement from Porterville School District in 2005 he was awarded leadership role of Pastor of his church. Lee felt honored and humbled to serve his community and church family for the past twelve years.
Lee was a family man he truly enjoyed being in the company of his family and friends. He loved getting together for bar-b-ques and Sunday dinners. He love to socialize and talk about his children as well as his beautiful grandchildren, they all meant the world to him. On warm sunny days you could find him working outside in the garden or sitting on the porch reading his bible. He loved going to church and gathering with the congregational fellowships.
Preceding him in death are: His son Levirdies Samuel Allen Jr. (Lee Lee). Sisters, Geneva Benjamin, Eva Mae Woolfolk, Gerthene Neal, Margret Dudley, and his brother, Essie Bohanan.
Lee leaves to mourn and cherish his memories his loving wife Jennifer Allen, his daughters Ikaya (Harry) Simmons, San Diego Ca, Tiara Allen, Perris Ca, Tamika (Vincent) Blackston, Tulare Ca, Tirzanya Allen, Long Beach Ca, Kathrine Martinez, Tulare Ca, and Erika Allen (Lee-Lee) Tulare Ca.
He also leaves to morn sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
