In Loving Memory of Leo G. Valdez
Loving son to Esperanza and Luis Valdez.
Born on November 4, 1964 in Monterey Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Passed in the hands of God on December 23, 2020 in Whittier, CA.
He is survived by:
- His loving husband German "Jeremy" Hernandez with whom he spent 25 wonderful years
- His parents, Esperanza and Luis Valdez
- His brothers and sisters: Luis Jr., Nardy, Guadalupe, Elisea, and Francisco Valdez
- And all his loving family and friends
Leo was an amazing man full of life and spirit.
He accumulated many accomplishments during his lifetime.
- Graduated with the class of Orosi High School in 1983
- Graduated California State University of Fresno with a Bachelor and Masters in Counseling in 1996
- Graduated Bachelor Cal State University of Los Angeles with a Master in Administration in 2004
During his journey on earth he began working as a very young man in the fields alongside his parents and siblings. He learned from an early age that his greatest accomplishment would be to work hard to get an education and fulfill his dreams.
After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree, he began his first position as an elementary teacher. During this time, he was going to school for his first Master’s Degree. Soon after he moved to Los Angeles, CA. Here he began his 25 year journey with Los Angeles County Office of Education in the Migrant Education Program.
He ascended from a Program Specialist to an Educational Coordinator and finally suceeded one of his dreams of becoming a Project Director III.
Leo devoted his life to helping and mentoring migrant families and students. He touched and impacted so many lives throughout Los Angeles County.
Leo,
You will never be forgotten for all your love and dedication.
We love you so much.
You will be missed, but never ever forgotten.
