Kathleen Ann Jegen was born on June 11,1956, in San Francisco, Ca. She was the fourth child born to Bernard and Rachel Jegen. Along with her older siblings, George, Jerry, and Nita, she attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. Some eight and eleven years later, they would be joined by two additional sisters, Charlotte and Alice. She graduated from Mission High School. Shortly thereafter, Kathy met and fell in love with Louie Parangan and gave birth to her first daughter, Isabell, in 1975. Louie also had an older daughter, Laura, whom she loved as her own. When Isabell was still a baby, they moved to the Central Valley, where they worked in agriculture for several years. It wasn't until 1994 that she would give birth to another daughter, Monay, and they would move back to the Bay Area. Back in San Francisco, she would explore another passion of hers: cooking. She attended culinary school and worked as a cook in Hospice and Group Home settings, a true servant of God. In 2001, Kathy and Monay joined family in Loomis, and remained there until moving back to Fresno, again to be with family, and help care for her ailing mother. Here she was able to be closer to daughter Isabell, son-in-law, Stuart, and grandsons, Jadin and Devin. Her sisters and numerous nieces and nephew were here by now, and she would also become part of a large church family and volunteered when she could. Over the past few years, her own health would worsen, and Monay would remain with her mother, caring for her until her passing on July 22,2022, when she took her final breath, and met her Jesus. She is sorely missed and deeply loved by all those she touched, family and friends, alike.
