Juana Hernandez

Juanita Hernandez (age 81) passed away peacefully at her home in Tulare California surrounded by her loved ones on August 9th, 2021. She was born in La Hacienda Zacatecas Mexico on February 15th, 1940. She is survived by her children Christina (Lupe) Cardenas, David (Tami) Hernandez, George (Sandra) Ochoa, and Joe (Crystal) Hernandez. Juanita is now joined with her daughters Maggie Duran, Erma Ruiz, & Mary Hernandez in heaven. She also had 16 grand kids, & 20 great grandkids which she loved with all her heart. She is also survived by her siblings Josie Ochoa Vigil, Carmen Ochoa, Elena Barrios, Janie Castillo, Jesus “Chuy” Ochoa & Jose “Joey” Ochoa.

At the age of 19 she married David Hernandez on April 2nd, 1959 in Buckeye, Arizona. Juanita was a housewife for more than 60 years. She helped raise her brothers & sisters while raising her own children. On her free time, she loved to cook & bring her family together. She also loved to do crossword puzzles. She was a very active member of Mt. Zion Church in Goshen, CA. She loved getting dressed for church & patiently waited for her best friend Sister Martha Reese to pick her up for service. During the week, she spent every morning with her grandbabies Elijah & Malaysia watching their favorite cartoon “Tom & Jerry”. She was one blessed & strong woman. She will truly be missed by so many. “We love you Juanita Hernandez”

Service viewing will take place August 23rd, 2021 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Sterling & Smith Funeral Home located at 415 N. “K” St. in Tulare, CA.
Funeral Service will take place at 10 a.m. August 24th, 2021 also located @ Sterling & Smith Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at The Corcoran Cemetery at 1 p.m
