Jose Martins Serpa

Jose Martins Serpa was born in Santo Amaro Rebeirinha Terceira, Acores to Antonio Loureuco and Maria Jesus Serpa February 10, 1950. Jose passed away in the comfort of his home January 7, 2024, at the age of 73.

Jose (Joe) was a man of many talents. From farming, to mechanics, to being able to build a house from the ground up, there was nothing that he could not build or fix. His handy work was a trait he inherited from his father. Carpentry was his strong suit, one of his proudest moments was the day he received his construction and electrical engineer license. Joe’s true passion was music. Some of his best times were spent with family and friends playing the guitar, eating good seafood, and enjoying a nice Cabernet. His most joyous memories were shared in the company of his children and grandchildren.

Survived by daughter Jennifer Rodriguez (Victor), son Joseph Serpa (Camron), grandchildren Marcus Correia (Roxy), Diego Rodriguez, Leena Rodriguez, Joseph Cash Serpa, Carter Serpa, siblings Tony Serpa (Lupe), Frank Serpa, Maria Parreira (Manuel), Lucy Flores (Pete), Mary Fatima Leonardo (Tony), Mary Joe Trovao, John Serpa (Vitalina), Natalia Zavala (Rene), Jacinta Serpa, Tino Serpa (Mary), Fernando Serpa, Cecilia Mackiewics (Eddie), Manuela Parreira (Matt), David Serpa (Jeanie), and his nephews and nieces. Proceeded in death by parents Antonio and Maria Serpa, brother Amaro Serpa, and sisters Sandra and Filomena Serpa.
