Jeremiah Beavers

Mr. Jeremiah Beavers, affectionately known as Jay was born January 18, 1929 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Starling Sr. and Willie Ida Beavers. Jeremiah received his secular education in Nobletown, Oklahoma.
In 1938, at the age of 9 years old he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Arron A. Jackson.
Jeremiah first came to California in 1944. The Beavers family later moved to Buttonwillow, CA in 1948, then relocated to the Pixley/Tulare area. He then united with the First Baptist Church of Pixley, Ca under the leadership of the late G.W. Branscomb.
In 1949 Jeremiah joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Okinawa Japan for approximately two years. In 1953 he came to Merced, CA and soon after relocated to the Pixley/Tulare area. This is where he met the love of his life Miss Clara Mae Walker and in October of 1953 they united in marriage and they were blessed with six sons.
Jeremiah worked in agriculture as a farm laborer to provide for his family. Nearly 30 of those years were spent working for Bowman Farming of Corcoran, CA before retiring. After retirement he enjoyed farming and raising both vegetables and melons. He never met a stranger, and he was always friendly and respected in his community.
Jeremiah continued living his life for God as a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Pixley, CA. He served on the Deacon Board for 64 years and as Chairman of the Board for 47 years under the leadership of Pastor Nathaniel Hairston.
Jeremiah is preceded in death by his parents Staring and Willie Ida Beavers, 3 grandsons Roger Lee, Charles Jr., and Christopher Beavers, brothers Judge Beavers, Abram Beavers, Starling Beavers Jr., Melvin Beavers, Clyde Beavers and Benjamin Beavers. His sisters Mary Smith, Martha King, Josephine Henderson, Idell Winfrey, Iola Gray and Clarice Perry.
Jeremiah Beavers leaves to cherish his home going, his wife of 67 years Mrs. Clara Beavers, six sons Rodney-Marie of Rialto, CA, Rena-Trish of Simi Valley, CA, Robert-Roxy, Charles, Gary-Terricka of Tulare, CA, and Stephen-Rebecca of Visalia, CA. Three very special nieces, the daughters he never had Ruth, Eloise, and Annie. Three brothers Ervin Beavers-Ann of Fresno, CA, Raymond Beavers of Menifee, CA, and Rain June Beavers-Stessla of Portland, OR. Sixteen Grandchildren, sixteen Great-Grandchildren, two Great-Great-Grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Due to COVID-19 there will not be a repast after burial.
