Jenny Mejia was born on May 6, 1930 in Rockdale, Texas to Domingo and Luisa Sanchez. Jenny moved to East Los Angeles at a young age, attending school there, up to the 11th grade at Garfield High School, until having to work to help her parents out.
She worked factory jobs in East Los Angeles and numerous years doing farm labor in the San Joaquin Valley. While working in San Joaquin Valley, she met the love of her life Antonio Mejia, Sr. at Ryan Camp in Corcoran, California. They were married for 42 years. Jenny loved going shopping, collecting purses, drinking coffee at Tolberts (Corcoran) and Denny’s, dancing and listening to music. She definitely knew how to have a good time. We will not forget; she loved her chili.
Jenny is preceded in death on this earth by her husband, Antonio Mejia, Sr., Daughter, Irene Montano, parents, Domingo and Luisa Sanchez, sister Lucy Trejo, and brothers, Manuel Sanchez, Frank Sanchez, and Ruben Sanchez.
She is survived by her son, Antonio Mejia, Jr. of Banning, CA; daughters, Ofelia Onsurez and Rosemary De La Torre of Tulare, CA; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; brother, Albert Sanches of Los Banos, CA; sisters, Faye Maturino of Santa Ana, CA, Rachel Diaz and Eugenia Armendariz of Los Angeles, CA, Luisa Camorlinga of Mariposa, CA and Annie Miranda of Corcoran, CA and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
