Irma Lazo was born on September 08, 1959 in a small town of Coalcoman, Michoacan, Mexico to mother Jesus Guizar Suarez and father Miguel Vasquez Suarez. She was the middle child of 11 children.
Irma was brought to California at the young age of 9 years old. The family settled in Tulare County in the small farm town of Tulare, California. She attended Sundale Elementary where she graduated from the 8th grade. Irma then attended Tulare Union High School for one year. Irma left high school after her freshman year to go work and help her family financially.
Irma moved to Los Angeles in her early 20's where she lived for a few years. As a young woman living in LA she worked as a waitress. She always said it was some of her favorite years because she met so many people and made many long term friendships. She told her kids stories of the wonderful times she had with her friends and family while she lived in LA. Irma kept in touch with most of her friends from LA till her death.
Irma met her husband Carlos Lazo 1982. They were married in May of 1983 in Farmersville, California. They settled down and made home in Visalia, California. They had 3 children, Yesenia Lazo (1984), Victor Lazo (1985) and Laura Lazo (1991).
Irma worked in Packing Houses, Retail in mexican store/ restaurant "El Progresso" in Farmersville and also worked as Real Estate assistant for many years. Irma had to retire in 2014 due to her health.
After retiring Irma spent a lot of time with her kids and grandchildren. She made time to take the grandkids to the park or just spend the day with them. She had a way of making them know how special they were to her. She made sure to make the most memories with all of them.
Irma was a free spirit. She spent time with her siblings, cousins and friends either visiting or trips to the casino just having dinner and gambling. She loved to joke around, laugh and just have a good time with family and friends.
When Irma wasn't "out and about '' she was at home watching her TV Shows or Vicente Fernandez movies. As her health declined she never complained of pain or sickness. She stayed strong and resilient till the end.
Irma is survived by her husband of 39 years Carlos Lazo. Her daughter Yesenia Lazo (husband Salvador Ceja), Laura Lazo-Mares (husband Roberto Mares) and her son Victor Lazo (husband Raul Jimenez).
