Irene G Hernandez

On the afternoon of January 8, 2022 Irene G. Hernandez died at the age of 69. Irene was born on August 4, 1952 to Teodoro and Consuelo Hernandez in Decoto Ca. Irene went to James Logan high school in Union City Ca. She started a family with her former husband/high school sweetheart Rudy Godinez. She has 4 children, Rudy Godinez Jr. (Trisha), Veronica Quintero (Fred), Kristina Turner (Bill) and Cynthia Godinez. Irene is also survived by her sister Beatrice Hernandez. Irene was a home maker and worked in the semiconductor industry in the Silicon Valley, CA. She was a loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Irene's favorite were the holidays and would decorate her home to what ever holiday it was. Baking and cooking tamales on Christmas with family were special times. She grew up with traditions of the Catholic religion and passed those onto her children. The Ocean, Las Vegas, Hawaii and Cancun were some of the places Irene enjoyed traveling to with family and friends. She loved listening to music such as The Beatles, Ramon Ayala, Old School Funk, 1980's R&B/Pop and Chicano soul artists like War, Los Lonely Boys and Tower of Power to name a few. Her love of football was phenomenal, she loved rooting for her favorite team the San Francisco 49ers. Irene was full of life up until she was diagnosed with dementia 3 years ago. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, brother and her daughter Kristina Godinez Turner.
