Gloria Romero entered this world on March 8th, 1947, to Augustine and Guadalupe Gonzalez in Tulare, California.
She met the love of her life Ray Romero of Visalia in 1963. They exchanged wedding vows on January 8th, 1965 and started a journey that marked 56 years together. She has 5 children, Becky, Annette, Corinna, Ray, and Trina.
Gloria had as many names as she had talents. She was a Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Mother-in-Law, Aunt, and beloved friend. Her greatest title was Grandma! Her talents were and are the envy of all who knew her. Among them were Seamstress, Baker, Cook and a list too long to mention. At a moment’s notice, she was the ‘first call’ for almost all her family and friends. If a cake was needed, Gloria was always ready to deliver a baked and decorated cake for any event. Alterations? Once again, in minutes she would have one of her many sewing machines fired up and ready to complete the task with ease.
One talent that she was also known for may have just been her greatest, an Encourager. Those who came to see her and surround her in her final days mentioned over and over how many times she used the phrases, “It’s going to be OK.” or "Just pray about it". She was able to say that because of the long standing and unwavering relationship she shared with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
On June 16th at 2:40 pm, Gloria was given her well-deserved wings. Surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, and family.
She was preceded in heaven by her parents, Grandma and Grandpa next door, Augustine Gonzales Jr., Mary Moreno, and Johnny Gonzales.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years Ray Romero. Her son Ramon Romero, her daughters, Rebecca, Trina and Annette Romero and Corinna Jameson and her son-in-law David Jameson. Her grandchildren Joseph and Shyannah Jameson, Cassandra and Austin Chambers, Presley and Anthony Moll, Chris Chambers, Carissa and Faith Romero Beach, Jared Bankston, Breann, Isaiah and Joshua Romero, Sheldon Stout, Jaylen and Jade Whitfield and Charles Criswell. Great grandchildren, Hazel, River and Ledger Jameson and Maya Rodriguez. Her brother Frank Gonzales and Sister Manuela Romero along with several precious nieces and nephews.
