Gilbert Arredondo Sr. beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother in law, son in law, uncle and friend, passed away on September 12, 2024, at the age of 70. Born in Hanford, California, on November 18, 1953, Gilbert lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Gilbert is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Betty Arredondo, who was his partner in life and love. Together, they raised a family that brought him immense pride and joy. He is survived by his son, Gilbert Arredondo Jr., and his wife Laura, as well as his grandchildren: Victoria Bowersox her husband Luke, Justine Arredondo, and Gilbert Christopher Arredondo III and partner Lorena. His great-grandchildren, Josiah, Elliot, and Eliza, were the lights of his later years. Gilbert is also survived by his loving mother, Annie Arredondo, mother in law Goldie Sanchez, and his siblings, Frank Arredondo, Olivia Vidana, Silvia Marquez, Arthur Arredondo, and Coreen Arredondo.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his father, Louis Arredondo.
For 38 years, Gilbert worked as a dedicated salesman, but his true passions were found in the moments he spent with his family and friends. He was a man who never met a stranger, always extending warmth, kindness, and a smile to everyone he encountered. His love for the Raiders was only rivaled by his love for fishing, dancing, and traveling with Betty by his side.
An avid BBQ enthusiast, Gilbert took great joy in gathering his family for meals, sharing stories, and creating unforgettable moments together. He also loved eating out whenever he got the chance, savoring new dishes and making every meal a special occasion. Above all else, his family was his greatest pride, and the love he had for them knew no bounds.
Gilbert's generous spirit, love of life, and passion for bringing people together will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and family will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
