Edward Serna Murillo

Edward Serna Murillo Sr., affectionately known as Eddie, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the age of 68, from natural causes.

Eddie was born on April 7, 1956. He was a kind and loving man who devoted his life to his family and grandchildren. Known for his big heart and unwavering character, Eddie was a man to look up to and admire.

He enjoyed drawing, dancing, fishing, and spending time in the mountains. A handyman by nature, Eddie loved helping others and cherished every moment he spent with his grandchildren.

Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Henrietta Serna; his father, Guillermo Murillo; his grandparents, Beatrice and Casimiro Serna; his sister, Irma Murillo; and his brother, Gilbert Murillo.

He is survived by Irma Nañez and his children: Rita Murillo Belton, Edward Murillo, Gina Alcantar, Juan Nañez, and Izzac Murillo. Eddie is also remembered fondly by his siblings: Elizabeth Quintana, Patricia Marroquin, and Paul Prado. He was a beloved "Tata" to his 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Sterling and Smith Funeral Home in Dinuba, CA, on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Smith Mountain Cemetery on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

Eddie’s warmth and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
