Eddie "Danny" Delsid

On April 6th 2021, Eddie “Danny” Delsid went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife Rebecca; two children Gabriel (Paz) and Amanda; six grandchildren: Alina, Nathaniel, Madison, Savannah, Lucille and Ruby; and one great granddaughter: Emery. He is also survived by six brothers, eight sisters and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Eddie had a very strong work ethic. As a young man, he started out as a timber marker for the U.S. Forest Service. Moving to Fresno to support himself and his grandmother, he worked in the horse stables at the Fresno Fairgrounds and landscaping. After starting his own family he worked in fiberglass manufacturing, transitioned to power plant construction, forklift assembly and other odd jobs. Finally, he found himself back in North Fork, CA, where he was raised as a child, working for the U.S. Forest Service as a timber marker and cruiser for the last 15 years of his working life.

Even though these last 12 years have not been the easiest of his life, real beauty has come from what has seemed to be ashes. Holding on to true faith in Christ led his heart to believe God when He said; “A crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning” (Isaiah 61:3). From the highest of highs like receiving his kidney transplant from Kathy Rumfelt. (We can never thank you and Don enough for the gift you gave our family and for years we would not have had). To the lowest of lows, finding out he needed to go back on dialysis because the transplanted kidney was failing. With everything in between and up till the end, he trusted in the Lord. In the midst of his body getting weaker and growing more tired, his unwavering faith and love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Grew.

From this growing faith, as he sat under the teaching of Pastor Carman Ruggeri at His House Christian Fellowship, an unconditional love for all of his family and friends abounded. But, because he did not feel he was good with words, he let his actions speak with service and kindness. When his body got tired, he showed love by being present. You could count on him to be there and early. He eventually found his voice; not holding back words of love—face to face, phone call or text. Saying he loved you; he meant it.

Eddie “Danny” Delsid was called many things: husband, daddy, brother, tio, uncle, cousin. But, his favorite name was Papa from the mouths of grandchildren either sweetly as they hugged him goodbye, to say good night or in a full on belly laugh because of his silliness. There is no doubt he will be dearly missed, until our final breaths. As a family we hold these words firm in our hearts; “Jesus said ‘I am the Resurrection and the Life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26). Eddie believed this with all of being. Even now his testimony is; ”...Death has been swallowed up in Victory”(1 Corinthians 15:54-55) “Thanks be to GOD! He gives us the VICTORY through our LORD Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57).

His life was made full by his Lord Jesus and all of those who poured into him. His life was a tapestry of: Bishop, Gutierrez, Delsid, Rodriguez, Ahumada, Donnell, Verduzco, Lugo, Armstrong, Ruggeri and Demeusy. All making his life colorful and full of Love.

Until we meet again in glory. Know that you are greatly missed and loved.
