August 6, 1941 — December 31, 2022

Dorothy Jane Martinho

Dorothy Jane Martinho passed on from this life at the age of 81 to return home to God on December 31st, 2022. She was born August 6th, 1941 in Tulare, CA to Manuel & Lucille Correia and was the second oldest of 5 children. She passed peacefully at her home in Tulare, CA with her family by her side.

Dorothy is survived by her 7 children and 15 grandchildren; Tammy Provence (John-spouse, Christopher, Joshua, Nicholas, & Jonathan-children), Patrice Castellanoz (Reyes-spouse, Candice-child), Marian Martinho (Deb Corradini-spouse), Bernadette Martinho-Brewer (Henry-spouse, Daniella-child), Danny Martinho Jr. (Shara-spouse, Daniel, Annabelle, Faith, Deegan-children), Brian Martinho (Sara-spouse, Nathan, Jessica, Parker-children), and Manuel Martinho (Monique-spouse, Nikko, Abrielle-children). She also has 6 great-grandchildren. Dorothy raised her children with much love and selflessness. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her 2 youngest siblings Marvin Correia and Marilyn Cunningham. Her older brother Melvin Correia and younger brother Frank Correia predeceased her.

Mom was known for her great love of God and devoted following of Jesus Christ. She was the best example, by her actions, in our lives of how a Christian should live their life and treat others. She didn't just talk about the Christian "walk," she was committed and lived it daily. Mom displayed the closest example, we have witnessed, of unconditional love to the people she encountered in her daily life.

Mom was fortunate enough to experience one of the greatest love stories in her 43-year marriage to her husband Danny Martinho Sr. Danny passed away too early at the age of 67 in August of 2003. She could have easily felt sorry for herself and changed her outlook on life after she lost her soul mate,

but that was not mom. Mom continued to exemplify a beautiful and unconditional love and service to all those in her life.

Dorothy was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family, friends, and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. Mom was always the first to offer help to those in need. She regularly cooked and brought meals to the home of others that were sick or experienced a traumatic life event. Mom always ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, and happy.

Mom was part of the Altar Society Christian charity in the Catholic Church for many years. She also taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) to 1st grade students at St. Aloysius Church for 40 years.

To the most beautiful soul we have experienced in all 7 of our lifetimes combined, we celebrate your entry into Heaven with God and a beautiful reunion with dad!
