Charles Edward Freeman

Charles Edward Freeman transitioned to his heavenly home, July 28, 2023, in Reedley, CA after a long battle with pneumonia. He was surrounded by his wife, Rosemary, and caregiver, Rosa.


Charles was born November 21, 1946 at Highland Hospital in Oakland, CA. to Simon Freeman and Margarette Rhodes. The family later moved to Vallejo, CA where Charles attended and graduated from Vallejo High School. in 1964. After high school, he attended Solano Junior College in Vallejo, CA studying to become an auto mechanic. Following college, he enlisted in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a fighter pilot aboard the USS Kitty Hawk.


After leaving the Navy, he became a certified auto mechanic for over 40 years. He was also a sheet metal worker.


He was an avid reader, especially military books and history. Those were his favorite books. Watching old school R&B music videos was his favorite thing to do on his computer. Occasionally, he would watch You Tube old western movies. He had a peculiar sense of humor that made people laugh. He knew how to put a smile on a person's face.


He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Rosemary. They went on many cruises and other vacations. Charles and Rosemary had a wonderful and blessed life together. They would have been celebrating 16 years of marriage, October 20, 2023.


In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Luther Williams. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Freeman, daughters, Cheryl Freeman and Doris Freeman, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, stepdaughter, Sabrina McMurry, stepson Jerrold McMurry, brothers James Freeman and Joseph Freeman, sister, Margarette McNeal and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
