Badger

Bruce (Bahulavan) D. Roberts (73) passed away peacefully on April 16, 2024 in Badger, California.

Bruce was born on November 10, 1950 to Cecil Roberts and Mary Baker Weber in Louisville, Kentucky and was a graduate of Louisville’s Atherton High School. In 1974, Bruce became a disciple of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabupada and joined the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), known as the Hare Krishna movement.  It was during this time that he became lifelong vegetarian. Bruce was a founding member of Panorama Farms in Badger, CA formed in 1983 and was a lifelong resident.

Bruce will be remembered for his generosity, master carpentry skills, warm smile, and as the backbone of the Panorama Farms community. He was a master carpenter and built many homes throughout California and beyond. He loved spending time with his grown children. He had the ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed. He never met a stranger. He loved playing the guitar, naming every mountain peak from his front deck, photography, maps, and tending to his farm.

Bruce is survived by his three children: Atma Roberts, Adam Roberts, and Patita Roberts; stepdaughters Jeannie Forney (Scott) and Marian “Risk” Castinado (Ryan); stepson Albert Strickler; and stepgrandchild Rossiter. He is also survived by his three brothers: Norman Roberts, Carl Weber (Sandi), and George Weber and several nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Roberts and Mary Weber; wife, Jeanette Roberts; and stepdaughter, Melissa Terry.

Bruce left us far too soon and the impact he had on his community will be felt for years to come.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
